About Amy
I've been teaching ESOL since 2012, and have taught a fair old number of students in that time. As I'm a classroom teacher as well as a language tutor, altogether I've helped hundreds of students to learn a language. My IELTS students have achieved their 6s and 7s needed to get into the university of their choice, and my pronunciation students have been impressed with the progress they can see themselves.
I've taught undergraduates as well as younger students, recently working to help a school in China set up its reading programme and Hangzhou local government with English teacher training.

Hi, I'm a teacher of ESOL and Mandarin who has taught for a number of years to all ages and levels of students. I completed a CELTA before teaching undergraduates English and going onto complete teacher training and an MA in teaching studies.
Lessons I give are structured around student progress; everything is done with the end goal in mind. I am a modern teacher, so I am mindful of student experience. This means I like to keep classes interesting and to the point! As I teach all ages, from very young to adults I adjust the way I teach according to my students; I have Disney books and songs for my youngest learners, but interesting articles and TED talks for the oldest.
I am a very flexible and patient tutor and teacher. I'm currently a doctoral student of languages education, and I am very aware of the difficulties faced by learners and the work required to overcome them. I will always do my best for my students, and absolutely believe that if you can learn your first language, you can learn a second.
