About Lauren

I am a qualified SEND teaching assistant with a degree in SEND and Inclusion, and I am passionate about supporting children to feel confident and successful in their learning. During my studies and practical experience, I developed a strong understanding of how to support children with a wide range of needs in a patient, adaptable, and encouraging way.

I chose to teach English because it has always been a subject I genuinely enjoyed, particularly creative writing, reading, and spelling. I believe these skills are essential not only for academic success but also for self-expression and confidence.

I want to tutor because I enjoy working one-to-one with children and being able to tailor learning to suit them as individuals. Seeing a child grow in confidence, begin to enjoy learning, and realise their own potential is what motivates me most.

My goal is to create a supportive and positive learning environment where every child feels understood, valued, and capable of success.

About the lesson

I offer personalised English lessons tailored to each child’s individual needs, interests, and learning style. With my background as a SEND teaching assistant and a degree in SEND and Inclusion, I understand that every child learns differently and may need a flexible, patient approach.

My lessons focus on building confidence as well as skills in reading, spelling, and creative writing. I use engaging, structured activities alongside creative tasks to keep learning enjoyable and accessible. I am experienced in supporting children with additional needs, including those who may struggle with confidence, attention, or literacy development.

I take time to get to know each student and adapt my teaching to suit them, whether that means breaking tasks down into smaller steps, using visual aids, or incorporating their interests into lessons. My aim is to create a calm, encouraging environment where children feel comfortable to learn, make mistakes, and grow.
