About Kirsty
Hello, I'm Kirsty.
I'm based in Glasgow and I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Social Sciences, alongside a Master of Science with Distinction in Health History (University of Strathclyde).
I have 4 years experience teaching students in further and higher education settings, alongside experience developing workshops aimed at both adults and children.
I've recently worked for the Scottish Parliament as a researcher, and continue to volunteer at my local archives.
I am passionate about the Social Sciences and History, and I hope to impart some of that enthusiasm onto my students.

My lessons take a student-focused approach, tackling the needs and the challenges that the students themselves highlight.
I will equip students with the skills to understand and think critically about the questions posed to them at school or university, in order to answer them effectively and thrive in an academic setting.
For students who are mad at Marx, worked up about Weber, or frustrated with Foucault; I will break down theoretical approaches in a way which is understandable and related to the students' topics and interests.
Furthermore, I provide practical writing and referencing tips, alongside a toolkit on how to structure essays.
I understand that school, college and university can be challenging places, particularly so if you have a disability and/or are neurodivergent. From my own experience, alongside a 3 year career in mental health and disability support, I can impart tailored guidance and skills to tackle your assignments.
I offer a free 30 minute initial meeting to explore the students' needs, before planning the rest of the lessons, which are usually 1 hour.
