As a licensed teacher with a background in special education, I specialize in helping K–12 students who are struggling with math—especially those feeling frustrated, anxious, or left behind. My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and deeply individualized, designed to meet each learner exactly where they are.
In my past role, I worked closely with classroom teachers to pinpoint students' gaps in core concepts, reinforce foundational skills, and build strategies for success on assessments. My lessons are focused but flexible, blending hands-on practice, clear modeling, and guided review to make sure the student truly understands—not just memorizes—the material.
A typical session might include:
- A quick check-in to understand the student’s mood and focus
- Targeted review of a challenging concept or homework problem
- Step-by-step instruction with real-time feedback and encouragement
- Wrap-up with review questions or a mini-assessment to check for understanding
