About Abbie
I am a civil engineer who specializes in structural and construction engineering. Math is my life, every single day. All those equations your teachers give you that you think “when will I ever use this?”… I use them every. Single. Day. Including the infamous Quadratic Formula. I’ve been tutoring math for five years. My sessions are fun, I guarantee you will laugh because I am a goofball. I am young, so no need to feel intimidated by me. I don’t want to be another teacher, I want to be someone students are comfortable asking every question that they have. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION!

I know math is frustrating. I know what it’s like to stare at a teacher’s solution to a problem and have no idea how they got there. I may be a civil engineer now, doing math every single day, but I had to work really hard to get here. That is why I am dedicated to making math simple, fun, and stress-free!
My specialties are middle school math, Algebra (I+II), precalculus, calculus (I+II), geometry, and trigonometry. I work with students of all ages!
I like to communicate about lesson expectations prior to a session. My preference is to have the student send me homework problems and in-class materials that they want to work on so I can help them understand the math and what the teacher is looking for. I spend a lot of time prepping for lessons and personalizing them to the student.
For my parents with younger kids, listen up: while I may be young, I teach math the OLD SCHOOL way. No tricks, no ten step process for basic addition and multiplication. I am committed to the development of strong fundamental skills.
