About Bailey
I am currently teaching Social Studies at the High School Level and also have experience teaching elementary and preschool. In addition to my Education degree, I also have a Bachelor of Science specializing in Environmental Science. I am passionate about teaching and I bring great energy and a variety of educational experiences to my lessons. I believe positive relationships are the most important foundation for learning anything and I promise to always be respectful, encouraging, and positive in all our lessons and interactions. Lessons will be designed to target the level of the learner with conversations, guided reading, and writing exercises all individually created to meet the goals of the student.
Initial Lessons will test the current level of the student through:
-Basic Conversation prompts
-Several Reading comprehension activities at varying levels
-Listening Exercises
-At least two writing prompts
-Student Interest/Goal questionnaire to help design future lessons
I am an experienced teacher with 2.5 years of experience teaching ESL in South Korea and have done Levelled Literacy Intervention Training through Fountas and Pinnell. I am certified in LLI which means that I can target interventions and have advanced training in Literacy to assist students when they are struggling with reading, writing, and comprehension.
