About Richard
I am a qualified teacher working in a busy Hertfordshire secondary school. I have been teaching for 5 years . I have a degree in Civil Engineering and before teaching spent many years working in industry. I have 2 children, one in year 12 studying for A levels and another in year 9 starting GCSES. This gives me great insights into the perspectives of the students, their parents and a teacher.

In the classroom I have a confident, purposeful but relaxed teaching style. I build on my students previous understanding and experience of a particular topic and build their understanding and interest by offering them real life applications and make links to the other subjects they study. From the beginning I try to understand my students end goal and provide interesting and challenging resources for them to achieve these goals.
