About Mary
Hi, I’m Mary, and I am a fully registered teacher with a Bachelor of Teaching (primary) degree. With over 2 decades of experience in teaching in the classrooms and supporting students individually, I’m a generalist teacher who can teach all elementary/primary school subjects. However, I specialize in helping young learners build strong foundations in Science and Mathematics. I ensure and take pride in making challenging concepts clear, engaging, and enjoyable. My lessons are carefully structured to match each student’s needs. Whether they require extra support, need to catch up, or are ready to be extended beyond their classroom learning. Each lesson typically runs for 45-60 minutes and combines step-by-step instruction, practice activities, and realistic/relatable examples to deepen understanding. I encourage questions, appreciate progress, and create a positive learning environment where children feel safe to learn, grow, and succeed. I am committed to helping learners gain skills, confidence, and curiosity they need to thrive academically.

I believe learning should be clear, engaging, and confidence-building. My approach focuses on: * Simplifying complex ideas, step-by-step explanations. * Using hands-on activities, visuals, and real-life examples to make learning relatable. * Encouraging students to be inquisitive, think critically, so they truly understand rather than memorize. * Tailoring lessons to each child’s unique learning style-visual, auditory, manipulative, etc. Typical lessons usually run for 45-60 minutes. Allowing enough time to introduce new concepts, practice together, and reinforce understanding, without overwhelming younger learners. Qualifications & Experience * Fully registered teacher with the Bachelor in Teaching (Primary) degree. * Professional experience teaching at the elementary/primary level both local and overseas. *I’m a generalist- can teach all elementary/primary school subjects however, Elementary Science and Mathematics are my strength learning areas, with proven track record of helping students with their fundamental skills and improve confidence. Tutoring sessions are suitable for learners who are ages 3.5—12 years old who need extra support or want to get ahead in Science and Mathematics. Children who are struggling, as well as those who are confident but want to level up their learning capability and challenge themselves. Lessons are one-on-one or small group, ensuring personal attention and customized learning. As a teacher/tutor, I ensure to create a safe, encouraging, and engaging learning environment where children feel supported to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow into confident learners.
