About Musa
My Experience & Commitment to Your Child "Hi there! I know that finding the right tutor for a young child is about more than just finding someone who is good at math—it’s about finding someone who is patient, encouraging, and knows how to keep a 4 to 9-year-old focused. I’ve always had a natural knack for breaking down tricky ideas into simple, bite-sized pieces that actually make sense to kids. My experience comes from working closely with young learners in a one-on-one setting, where I’ve seen firsthand how much a child’s confidence can grow when they aren't afraid to make mistakes. I take my role very seriously and pride myself on being incredibly reliable and prepared for every single session. I’m not here to just give out answers; I’m here to help your child develop the 'logic' and 'thinking skills' they’ll use for the rest of their lives. When you book a lesson with me, you’re getting someone who is 100% committed to your child's progress. I’m always happy to chat with parents after a lesson to share what we’ve achieved and where we’re headed next. I can't wait to help your little one fall in love with learning.

I believe that for students in Grades 1 to 3, math shouldn't feel like a chore—it should feel like a puzzle waiting to be solved! My approach is rooted in the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) method. We start with real-world objects (like LOGOs or fruit) to understand the "why," move to drawing pictures to visualize the "how," and finally master the numbers on paper.
I use a "Positive-First" technique: I focus on what the student already knows to build their confidence before we tackle new, trickier challenges.
A Typical Lesson Plan (60 Minutes)
1. The Warm-Up (5-10 mins): A quick "Math Mystery" or logic game to get the brain moving and build excitement.
2. The Concept "Deep Dive" (15 mins): I introduce a new topic (e.g., adding with carrying) using colorful visuals and storytelling.
3. Guided Practice (20 mins): We solve problems together. I use a virtual whiteboard (for online) or physical props (for in-person) so the student is actively participating, not just listening.
4. The "Challenge" Game (10 mins): A fun, low-pressure game to test what we learned today.
5. Cool Down & Recap (5 mins): We celebrate the "wins" of the lesson and I explain to the student (and parent) what we mastered.
What Sets Me Apart
I am not just a tutor; I am a Learning Partner. I understand that children this age have high energy and short attention spans. What sets me apart is my ability to adapt a lesson on the fly—if a child is tired, we switch to a math song; if they are curious, we dive deeper. I make sure every student feels "seen" and encouraged, never judged.
Who These Lessons Are For
Levels: Primary / Elementary Students (Grades 1, 2, and 3).
Ages: Typically 4 to 9 years old.
Needs: Students who need help catching up with schoolwork, students who find math "scary," or those who just want to get ahead in a fun, supportive environment.

I highly recommend Musa as a tutor. She is full of energy and works wonderfully with children. She makes learning engaging and interactive instead of boring. Sofiat is especially great at keeping Grade 1 and 2 students focused, and she is both reliable and very creative.
