About Mariyum
I am a medical student with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students improve their confidence and performance in English. Having achieved high grades myself, I understand the challenges students face and how to overcome them effectively.
I enjoy teaching because I find it rewarding to see students progress and gain confidence in their abilities. I focus on creating a supportive and structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.
My approach is patient, clear and tailored to each individual, ensuring every student gets the guidance they need to reach their full potential.

I offer GCSE English lessons focused on improving exam technique, essay structure and analysis to help students achieve higher grades. As a medical student who achieved strong results in English, I understand exactly what examiners look for and how to teach it clearly.
Lessons are tailored to each student. I identify weaknesses early, whether that is analysing language, structuring essays, or managing time in exams. We then work through targeted practice questions, past papers and model answers to build confidence and consistency.
I focus on teaching students how to write high level responses, not just understand the content. This includes clear paragraph structures, strong terminology, and techniques to access top mark bands.
Students are also supported with homework, feedback and strategies they can apply independently in exams.
