About Jeslyn
My name is Jeslyn, and I’m a highly motivated student with a strong academic background in mathematics. I recently completed my GCSEs and I’m now continuing studying Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A-Level. My recent experience with school and exams means I understand the current curriculum, common challenges students face, and how to overcome them with effective strategies. I’m passionate about education and genuinely enjoy helping younger students succeed. I’m approachable, organised, and patient, with a natural ability to explain difficult concepts in a way that’s easy to understand. As someone who’s recently gone through the exam system, I know how important confidence and encouragement are in learning — and I always bring that to my teaching. I take pride in being reliable, professional, and committed to helping each student reach their potential. Whether it’s guiding them through tricky topics or preparing them for competitive entrance exams, I always make an environment where the students can feel confident and motivated whilst keeping them engaged. I have completed the 11+ plus entrance exam so I understand how terrifying it is for the students but from my experience of attending a grammar school for the last 5 years and continuing to attend one of the best grammar schools in the country, I know what is expected of the students, so I am willing to help them feel prepared and supported every step of the way.

I am a recent GCSE graduate with top grades in Maths and Further Maths, and I am now studying A-Level Maths in a Grammar School. I have also achieved the Gold award in UKMT Maths Challenge, and the top scorer in the year (8-9% of UK). I specialise in preparing students for grammar school entrance exams, including the 11+ maths papers. My lessons are friendly, focused, and tailored to each student’s needs, helping them build confidence, speed, and accuracy. I break down complex topics into simple steps and use plenty of examples and practice questions to reinforce understanding. I also share exam techniques, time-management strategies, and common pitfalls to avoid, based on my own experience of recent exams. Each lesson typically lasts one hour, but I’m happy to adjust this based on the student’s needs or attention span. I teach online, which allows for flexible scheduling and a comfortable learning environment. These lessons are ideal for students in Years 4–6 preparing for grammar school entrance exams or the 11+ maths paper. Whether your child needs support with problem-solving, tricky worded questions, or general exam preparation, I’m here to help them succeed.
