About Rebecca
I grew up in Surrey and studied Maths, Chemistry and English Language at A level before going to the University of Bristol, where I graduated with a 2:1 in Economics and Management. After university, I worked in a bank for two years before deciding to move into teaching. I trained through the Teach First Graduate Programme, completing my PGDE at the University of Manchester, and have been teaching maths in schools in Bolton and London ever since. I went into teaching because I enjoy maths and want to help students build confidence, understanding and strong maths literacy, particularly for those who often lack confidence, including girls. I’ve worked with students of all abilities and backgrounds, including EAL learners, and adapt my teaching to suit each individual.

I teach in a calm, supportive way, focusing on understanding, confidence, and enjoyment of maths. Lessons are tailored to each student, with clear explanations, lots of practice, and a focus on problem solving and exam technique. Lesson length: 60 minutes Experience & qualifications: 5 years teaching maths in secondary schools in Bolton and London. Economics graduate (University of Bristol) with a PGDE from the University of Manchester. Who it’s for: KS3 and KS4 students, including GCSE Maths (Foundation & Higher), ages 11–16.
