About Shreya
I’m passionate about promoting the importance of languages and communication, which is why I study Spanish and Italian at the University of Manchester. My degree allows me to explore English through translation, global literature, and the beauty of Romance languages. Having studied both English Literature and History at A-Level, I understand the importance of knowing your exam specification inside out and mastering coursework techniques. I guide students in structuring essays, analysing texts with clarity, and tackling exam questions with confidence. I have a strong interest in teaching—not only through tutoring English Literature, but also through sharing Indian classical dance with younger students. I believe that learning should be both enjoyable and thought-provoking, and I bring this philosophy into every tutoring session. My goal is to help students build confidence, think critically, and develop a genuine appreciation for English!

With 3 years of experience as an A-Level English tutor, I offer engaging and tailored 1-hour sessions for both GCSE and A-Level students. Each lesson is designed around the individual needs of the student, adapting week by week based on their progress, confidence, and feedback. My approach is flexible and student-led: some sessions may focus on close analysis of texts, refining essay structure, or developing exam techniques, while others may prioritise building confidence with unseen material or understanding literary context. I take time to assess how each student learns best—whether that’s through discussion, visual aids, writing practice, or step-by-step planning—and adjust my methods accordingly to keep sessions productive and enjoyable. Above all, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions, exploring ideas, and reaching their full potential in English Literature.
