About Verina
Having moved countries during my education, I personally experienced the challenges of adapting to a new curriculum and initially started in Set 3 Maths. Through persistence and consistent effort, I progressed to the top set and developed a strong appreciation for the subject, ultimately achieving strong academic success in Maths and Further Maths at A-level. This journey has shaped my approach to tutoring, as I understand the importance of confidence-building, patience, and breaking concepts down in a way that makes maths accessible to all learners, regardless of their starting point.

My tutoring approach is target- and goal-oriented, with each lesson individually tailored to the student’s needs and learning style to ensure focused progress and measurable improvement. I use a clear, step-by-step teaching method, breaking concepts into manageable parts, followed by guided practice and independent questions to build confidence and exam technique. I also have experience supporting students with a range of learning disabilities, including ADHD, and adapt my lessons to provide structured, supportive, and accessible learning.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long. I have been tutoring since 2018, working with both one-to-one students and small group settings in schools and private tuition. I hold A-levels in Maths and Further Maths qualification, alongside extensive tutoring experience, and I am also a qualified clinical pharmacist with a postgraduate diploma, bringing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to my teaching. My lessons are primarily aimed at GCSE students, from foundation level through to higher achievers, with a strong focus on building confidence, understanding, and exam performance.
