About Alice
I am 24 years old, currently a cancer support worker and I have taught 6 students GCSE separate sciences previously, and have 6 years of experience getting students from 3/4s to 7/8s.
I am organised and prompt, and highly value student/parent feedback and safety. For this reason I use Whatsapp to communicate to parent and pupil and Google classroom so they can review tests I have marked, see homework set, and can easily monitor progress.
I have maintained positive professional relationships with multiple clients across their children's entire GCSE journey (3 years of tutoring), and I am flexible and transparent regarding moving lessons due to unexpected circumstances or planned events.

I follow alongside or just ahead of school curriculum to keep my students on track with their in-school grades as well as their practice test grades.
My lessons are structured as:
Lesson 1: teach a manageable chunk of key topic
Homework 1: note taking/topic review with suggested guidance of where to take notes from or videos to watch.
Lesson 2: fact recall and question practice related to key topic
Homework 2: practice test questions from key topic
Lesson 3: Review marked test questions focussing on lost marks
Homework 3: Re-review mistakes adding to revision notes where appropriate. Additional alternate questions set to ensure student now understands their incorrect answers
I also answer questions in non-lesson time and will go through marks lost from school papers/mark school papers with students as I understand in larger classrooms this is often missed.

Alice is my older sister, and has been helping me with all three sciences since I was 15. She is patient, understanding, and is happy to explain things in multiple different ways to ensure you actually understand the science rather than just learning it off by heart. She also helped me by proof reading my EPQ and going the extra mile to help by suggesting extra research papers and explaining them to me too. I recommend her as a tutor because she is willing to go the extra mile to help out.
Before I began being tutored by Alice I was getting Grade 3s and my school told me that I needed to do the Foundation GCSE exam. I then started tutoring with Alice and my grades started to rapidly improve. Her sessions were engaging and made me enjoy the subject a lot more. We also went through past papers and I completed work between each session and which massively helped. My final GCSE grade was a grade 6 (B) and I would never have been able to achieve that without her help!
