About Scarlet
I’ve always had a deep love for geography and the outdoors, and I’m passionate about sharing that enthusiasm with others. I believe geography is all around us, it connects people, places, and the planet in ways that are both fascinating and relevant to everyday life. I recently completed my dissertation on community-led sustainability initiatives, reflecting my strong interest in human geography and real-world solutions to environmental challenges. At the same time, I thoroughly enjoy physical geography topics such as coastal environments and biogeography. My goal as a tutor is not just to help students succeed academically, but to inspire a genuine curiosity about the world and how it works. With a strong academic background and a professional, supportive approach, I aim to make every lesson both engaging and effective.

I take a personalised approach to every session, adapting my teaching style to suit each student’s learning preferences, pace, and goals. Whether it’s tackling a challenging topic or piece of work, preparing for exams, or building a strong foundation through weekly syllabus-based lessons, I focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment that builds confidence and independence. I typically offer 40-minute sessions for GCSE and A Level students, and 30-minute sessions for younger learners, though I’m happy to adjust this based on individual needs. I hold a BA in Geography with Upper Second Class Honours from the University of Newcastle and achieved A* grades in both GCSE and A Level Geography. While studying for my A Levels, I tutored GCSE Geography students, which gave me valuable experience in explaining complex concepts clearly and effectively. Having also received a lot of tutoring myself over the years, I understand first-hand what students find helpful, and I use that insight to create lessons that are not only informative but also enjoyable and easy to follow. I’m committed to helping students reach their full potential, not just through academic success, but by developing critical thinking and effective study habits that last beyond the classroom.
