About Mark
I am a tutor / ESL activity leader with a BA Geography degree from UBC. With over 20 years experience, I have had the good fortune of combining ESL learning with ecological activities. I have previously designed, developed and delivered a series of English language workshops with an ecological focus for ESL students who visited Canada.
Having traveled from the Pacific coast of Canada to northern Mexico through the USA, I had the pleasure of studying the Hispanicization of North America via a three-week university field course. Learning about the physical, cultural and historical geography of each region as we travelled south and back by mini van was an utterly unique experience which enhanced and broadened my university degree. Memories and learning last a lifetime!

Essentially, learning is the ability to integrate understood knowledge. With that in mind, I find it important when tutoring to make sure the student feels confident to ask questions to attain a level of understanding that produces applied knowledge.
