About Marie
I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a 2:1 degree in German Studies with French and Spanish. The daughter of a French/Spanish teacher, I have lived, worked and travelled abroad extensively, including a year studying at the University of Mainz, Germany. Upon graduation, I taught English in a remote Japanese village on the government-run JET Programme, so have basic Japanese. I also taught evening classes to adults in Japan so have a range of experience teaching English as a foreign language. I worked in international relations in Auckland, New Zealand, welcoming delegations from Europe, the Americas and Asia to the city (and using my language skills at the same time). I have been tutoring in French or German since my children were young, from GCSE to A-levels and beyond into degree-level. I also offer English as a foreign language tutoring. This kind of work allows me flexible hours, in return for a rewarding and enjoyable tutoring experience. I also recently taught German to adult learners at two local colleges, gained my Diploma in Education and Training (DET) and then Qualified Teaching and Learning Status. I now work part-time in a secondary school teaching German and French. I look forward to hearing from you! Perfect! Adult beginner
Marie is a patient tutor who works at the pace you want to go at. She makes the lessons fun a relevant to what you want to learn. I am impressed that she always has a detailed lesson plan and is very good at giving feedback. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Deborah
