About Ben
Hi, I'm Ben.
I've been producing music on Ableton Live since I was 14.
I've done official remixes for artists such as Vance Joy and Troye Sivan, produced for Mallrat and seen my music featured in a worldwide advertising campaign for Google.
Currently, I work out of a studio in Collingwood (which we are free to use for our lessons), equipped with a number of analogue synths, drum machines, mics and outboard gear. I've also completed a Tafe course in sound engineering and have DJ'd in venues across Melbourne. Whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced producer looking to refine your skills, I can help you to reach your production goals!

My methodology shifts according to the goals of my students.
For students looking for a comprehensive understanding of the art and science of music production, I can deliver a full course providing a deep dive into the essential elements of music production (Ableton Live, workflow, creativity, music theory, synthesis/sound design, mixing and mastering).
However, many may find it more useful to focus in on one or two singular elements that they feel to be holding back their progression as a producer. For example, this could take the form of track critique and production assistance, sound design workshops, mixing lessons or any number of other formats.
I believe that it is important to know where someone is going before you attempt to tell them how to get there. Music production is a broad term that covers a vast range of skills. Because of this, I work with students first to figure out what skills they need to develop to achieve their goals. Only after this has been clearly defined do I decide upon lesson structures and content.
