About Rachel
I am a secondary English teacher with 3 years of experience. My tutoring style is underpinned by a pupil-centred approach which puts the unique learning style of every student at the heart of my practice. The first component in this process involves working with students to harness their understanding of the key concepts and literary devices they will be expected to master for their exam. Secondly, I ensure that they have a sound grasp of the relevance of these concepts and devices in their every day lives through personalised and relatable examples. The third component of my practice entails helping students to understand their exam criteria and view their work through the lens of an examiner. It is the combination of these dimensions that I believe equips students with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in their studies.
