About Dylan
Hello! My name is Dylan, and I am about to start university in late September, and am predicted a very high B if not an A grade for English Literature in A Levels. I am a chatty male, and if you feel like you are struggling with English skills or just want to learn more about the subject, I am here to listen to you and support you through it all! Students both older and younger than you have left my tutoring feeling happy and satisfied, and I will change around my methods to whatever suits you best! It will be one on one, so you don't need to worry about me losing my focus, I want you to grow in English, it can be very useful for communication and making friends over books you may enjoy! I am an optimist and never get mad, so hopefully we can both work together well! I often enjoy supernatural novels like Dracula, and have read and analysed a lot of poetry, especially Keats! I am a cat lover, and passionate English student, and most importantly, I love seeing young people like you grow into smart students!

The typical length of one of my English Literature Zoom tutor sessions will be 1 hour, but times can vary as I am willing to adapt my schedule for students and if your student does want a longer session, I will make time for it. My methodologies will change depending on the student (E.g. if they prefer learning through audio I will read to them, whereas a different student may prefer visual learning so I would encourage them to draw pictures which correlate to the literature they are learning about). Certain techniques include making them read a chapter and asking them questions about what happened in that chapter, weekly spelling tests, and creative writing tasks to check their grammar. I have been told I am very patient and hardworking and kind by my past teachers, since I have been a Year 8 science supporting teacher assistant, a primary liaison prefect which involved reading and teaching spelling to Year 7s, and in 2020 I was a learning support assistant in maths and English, doing one on one person sessions, making sure the student makes progress. Lessons are for students aged 5-13, mostly in primary school but secondary school students are also accepted. My ultimate goal is to pass on my English knowledge and passion for it to students of all ages and genders, as I love to make younger people happy and feel like they are becoming more intelligent! After all, English is not just a literacy skill, but you need it for life, young people need to read for basic purchases, driving in the future, and communicating with others. I look forward to working with any potential students!
