I specialise in Maths and English Language at GCSE level, supporting students with problem-solving, language analysis and writing skills. Any exam board for Mathematics is fine, I specialise in Edexcel and AQA for English Language. Initially, I will work with students on specific topics they find difficult, in mathematics, this tends to be quadratics, non-calculator paper topics and application questions, in English Language, this tends to be language analysis. I will then work with a student to develop key skills that they are significantly weaker in, typical areas for mathematics are problem solving, how to lay out and approach difficult questions, time management, structure, problem-solving. Throughout this process, we will work together on harder questions where the answer may be more challenging to get to. Also, I will set targets with students based on what they are trying to achieve, grade ambitions and future ambitions education-wise or work-wise. I have experience supporting secondary school students with mathematics and English Language at a range of different levels, I also have volunteered with children for 3 years.
