About Jayesh
Hello! I'm Jayesh, a second-year A-level student at Dr Challoner's Grammar School in Amersham, where I'm studying Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science. Having achieved grade 9s in both GCSE Maths and Physics, and currently predicted A*s in both subjects at A-level, I have a passion for these subjects and love helping others succeed in them too. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I've recently navigated the exact challenges my students are facing. I remember the stress of GCSE exams, the topics that seemed impossible at first, and the satisfaction of finally understanding them. This recent experience means I know exactly which exam techniques work, which topics students typically struggle with, and how to explain concepts in ways that actually make sense. Beyond academics, I volunteer as a teacher at Shishkunj, a Sunday school where I've been trained in holistic child development and effective communication with young people. This experience has taught me patience, adaptability, and how to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes - because that's how real learning happens. I believe tutoring isn't just about getting the right answer; it's about building confidence and helping students become independent learners. My Approach to Tutoring: As a current second-year A-level student at Dr Challoner's Grammar School, I understand exactly what it's like to face challenging GCSE Maths and Physics exams - because I've recently been there myself! Having achieved grade 9s in both subjects and now predicted A*s at A-level, I know the exact techniques and strategies that work. My Teaching Methodology: I focus on breaking down complex topics into simple, digestible steps that make sense. Rather than just teaching formulae and methods, I help students truly understand why things work, which builds confidence and makes exam questions much easier to tackle. I adapt my teaching style to each student's needs - whether you're aiming to move from a 5 to a 7, or pushing for that grade 9. My approach includes: -Identifying knowledge gaps and addressing misconceptions early -Exam technique training and practice with past papers -Building problem-solving confidence through worked examples -Regular progress checks to ensure concepts stick Through my work at Shishkunj (Sunday school), I've developed strong skills in holistic child development and presenting information in engaging, age-appropriate ways. Lesson Structure: Typical lessons are 1 hour long, though I'm flexible based on your needs. Each session includes recap of previous topics, new content teaching, and practice questions to consolidate learning. Who I Teach: My lessons are perfect for GCSE Maths and Physics students (ages 14-16, Years 10-11) who want to improve their grades and build genuine understanding. I may also offer A-level support for specific topics upon request. I've tutored GCSE students before and received excellent feedback on my clear explanations and patient teaching style. Being close in age to my students helps me relate to their challenges and communicate in a way that resonates.
