About Ashlee
I want my students to discover that there is something within English Language and Literature for everyone. My aim is to help learners recognise their strengths, build confidence, and develop a genuine connection with language, rather than seeing English as something to fear or endure. I take time to get to know my students so that, where possible, their interests, hobbies and values can be reflected in our learning and examples.
I am an English Linguistics graduate, writer and educator with over 20 years’ experience supporting learners. I am currently writing my first book, and my poetry has been published in a number of anthologies. In my twenties, I taught English as a foreign language in France, Spain and Hungary, which gave me valuable experience adapting my teaching to different learners, abilities and cultural contexts.
I bring a calm, patient and professional approach to tutoring, and I place great importance on creating a safe, respectful learning environment. Outside of teaching and writing, I spend much of my time with my two dogs, who keep me grounded and remind me daily of the value of patience, consistency and compassion — qualities I also bring to my work with students.

My lessons are calm, structured and tailored to each individual student. I am an English Linguistics graduate, writer and poet with over 20 years’ experience supporting learners, including neurodivergent students and those who find traditional classrooms challenging. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and cover both GCSE English Language and Literature - at your request - including AQA and other major exam boards. I focus on building understanding, confidence and clear exam technique, adapting my approach to suit different learning styles, paces and access needs.
