About Iqra
My name is Iqra Mahmood, 17 year old student A level Sociology. I attained an 8 for my GCSE language and a 9 for literature. English has always been my great passion since primary school and I tend to do creative writing as a hobby. I always use positive reinforcement with my students and encourage them to go the extra mile, do not let mistakes define you. I’m here to bring your inner Shakespearean out and incite a love for literature and the art of language!

I have experience tutoring young students as little as age 7. My typical lesson length on average is 40 minutes. I cater to GCSE students as well as students of all ages younger than that. I help students to improve their grammar skills and ads a more judicious range of vocabulary to their writing, particularly creative writing. My students first identify the theme of the given passage and rewrite the context in their own words to improve it. Remember, show, not tell!! I also teach students to infer hidden meanings from quotes and expand on it, as well as breaking down infamous quotes from some famous pieces of literature, like Inspector Calls and A Christmas Carol.
