I have been teaching University Spanish courses for more than seven years now. My philosophy is that students need to feel like they have ownership over their learning. Far too often, students get stuck in their coursework because they don't feel like there is a point, just a bunch of hoops to jump through.
Rather than approach language learning as a "task" to be done in the classroom, I see it as the foundation of all meaningful communication. Students, regardless of their level, need to have personal goals and a support system that will encourage them to see the beneficial aspects of learning a new language.
I have worked with a wide variety of students before, from teenagers to older adult learners, neurodivergent students, and special needs students. I love helping people find their voice in Spanish.
