About Elizabeth
Hello! I am a graduate student studying to become a school counselor and therapist, who enjoys working with children and adolescents in educational settings and contexts. I love tutoring because it allows for one-on-one time students don’t get enough of in the classroom.
Outside of work and school, I love to spend time with my family and animals. Fun fact: I have 4 ferrets who often make appearances in online sessions.

My approach to educating children and adolescents is holistic and empathic. Given my education in sociology and counseling, I understand that struggling with course material is often connected to other factors in a student's life. No child is the same and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring. Because of this, I always aim to build a relationship with students to understand their unique needs and challenges with any given subject. My tutoring style is goal-oriented and solution-focused. I work with students to help them identify goals for their academic improvement and allow them to guide their progress while keeping them on track. Once we have established our short-term and long-term goals for growth, lesson plans will focus on specific content areas to help address academic difficulties. I believe that with support and understanding we can empower and motivate our students to strive for success, whatever that may look like for them.
