As an instructor, my goal is to ensure that students develop a solid understanding of the concepts they are and will cover in class.
I am able to do this by tutoring using a theory first methodology. Providing the “why” something is necessary. Along with the applicable uses of the thing they are currently studying. I combine that with the development of a clearer understanding of the process and information. Giving the student three ways to actively engage and interact with the content they are learning.
This allows my students to develop a deeper understanding of the core principles and concepts. While also illustrating to them they can take those theories and learned concepts and apply them to real world situations. Creating an intrinsically engaging learning environment for students.
