About Annya
I graduated from Barnard College in Art History with a Concentration in Visual arts with a focus in installation, performance and mixed media. Coupled with a minor in Spanish and Hispanic Cultures, my Bachelor’s Thesis was centered on a Peruvian artist written from material in Spanish translated to English. Since, I have been translating a variety of materials such as medical records, press releases, and short stories from Spanish to English.
At my current day job, I was promoted to train new Medical Scribes, which is where I found my passion for teaching. Simultaneously, through my translation jobs, I have experienced the importance of language learning, and am passionate about becoming part of that process. I am currently in the process of becoming a High School Spanish Teacher, and am looking forward to the next school hiring cycle.

I focus on conversational Spanish, pronunciation and grammar. We will go step by step on enunciation and pronunciation, learn new words and grammar structures in Spanish, and incorporate fun activities into our lessons like Peruvian cooking lessons, learning the words to your favorite Shakira song, and practicing with scenes from your favorite Disney movies in Spanish. If you are looking to improve your speaking and listening skills through immersion in Hispanic culture and media, I am the right tutor for you!
