About Chris
I am a veteran teacher of over twenty years. During my career I have taught chemistry from the general level all the way up through the AP level. This gives me the skill and confidence to create lessons to match any student at any level of chemistry: while the general topics will be the same, the pace and depth will not. Each student's course will be tailored for depth and pace to fit their skills and needs.

My teaching strategy is based on the "Whole-Part-Whole" method: I show the overall topics, then break the topic into smaller "chunks" of information and techniques, and then relate all the "chunks" together to show how each part is a segment of the topic. I believe that relating new topics to older ones is very important to make chemistry and physics understandable and relatable.
A typical lesson plan follows this general format:
1) Review information from the previous class(es)
2) Preset new information: lecture, discussion, interactive problems, virtual labs, etc
3) Time before the end of the lesson to work on material from the current topic
As a veteran teacher of both general and honors level, I am well trained in setting a pace and a curriculum tailored to the individual needs of each student.
My lessons are for chemistry and physics: primarily for high school level but could be used for upper middle school or general chemistry/ physics at the college level.
