About Katie Grace
A little about me... I love the outdoors! I love to soak in everything around me! There are many things that we can learn and understand by simply exploring the world around us. One of main reasons I decided to become an educator is, I desire to educate students in a way that is fun and engaging. Growing up I had many teachers who were worksheet driven. I am a hands-on learner myself, so I gained little from their teaching style. I had to teach myself a lot of the time. I want to be the kind of educator who encourages her students to study and dig deeper on their own. It's time to encourage the next generation of scholars to do something big for themselves and our world.

I am a hands on educator! I love to teach in a way where words on a paper come to life.. students need to make connections with the world around them. A typical lesson begins with a pre-assessment/ opening activity, the main focus of lesson and a "wrap up"! A wrap up is a closing activity, this will look different each lesson. I take the time to understand the student and his/her learning style, all students can't learn the same way. We must differentiate! I am confident in my ability to tutor at the elementary level or with ESL students!
