About Ambi
Hi! My name is Ambi and I hope you consider me to be your next tutor. I am a creative individual and have always had a passion for teaching. From my own time in education, I have learnt that it's important to develop teaching styles and adapt them for the student while asking them what they like/dislike about each lesson. I strongly believe that each student needs to be taught differently. From my own time in education, I know that I am a visual learner, and learn best from diagrams and images and physical note-taking. When I first meet a new student, I make an active effort to explore every learning technique in the first lesson and differentiate which technique works best with my students. My lessons tend to run from an hour to 2, however I am a strong believer that brain breaks are important! When I teach Art I start by introducing a principle or technique, practise it, implement it into a drawing, and start working on a piece. I've found Art lessons are most effective when they are 2 hours long as it takes a while to get into the rhythm and set up materials, as well as learning a new technique. With English and History, I find that 1 hour lessons work well, as especially with younger kids, their attention span is much shorter. I make an effort to include quizzes and animated videos as a majority of my students find it more engaging when there are visual aids. With my current English students I teach a certain aspect of Literature, for example Shakespeare's dramatic techniques, then show them a video demonstrating these techniques, and follow up with a quiz to ensure the knowledge is retained. I have recently completed my A-Levels at Harrow and am now studying Fine Art. I have been tutoring for over 3 years now, and am now an expert at teaching online! I typically teach GCSE, KS2 and KS3 material however I am also able to teach A-Level Art and English Literature.

I am Ambi's father so my recommendation may be a bit biased.
However, I have seen the passion and dedication with which she prepares her lessons and the gentle approach of her teaching style.
She was very popular with all the lower school kids at Harrow International, HK, where she tutored, mentored or in some cases, looked after them for the whole day.
Oh, and she knows her stuff too.As Ambi’s pervious student I have definitely seen a growth in my English development (especially since it is not my first language), and even received a 9 in English Literature and Language for GCSE :)
