About Alyvia
As a Harvard University graduate with a double major in Government and History and a double minor in Education and American Sign Language, I bring both depth of subject expertise and breadth of educational practice. I’m a Harvard University graduate with over six years of tutoring experience, and I believe that no two students learn the same way. My teaching style is 100% personalized—whether that means breaking down complex math into step-by-step visuals, connecting history to real-world events, or turning test prep into a strategy game. I adapt every lesson to match each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals, ensuring learning feels engaging, approachable, and empowering. From Pre-K fundamentals to AP courses, SAT/ACT prep, and college applications, I’ve helped students of all ages not just improve their grades, but build confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning. I use a scaffolded approach, breaking complex ideas into manageable steps and gradually increasing challenge as students build competence. For visual learners, I incorporate diagrams, charts, and color-coded notes; for auditory learners, I encourage discussion and verbal processing. I also integrate spaced repetition and active recall to help information stick, as well as real-life examples to make abstract concepts tangible. My goal is not just to help students “get the right answer,” but to develop the skills and critical thinking that will serve them far beyond a single subject. I work with students at every stage of learning: - Early Education (Pre-K–Grade 5): Foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and curiosity-driven learning. - Middle & High School: Academic enrichment, homework support, AP and honors preparation, and standardized test readiness. - College & Adult Learners: Subject-specific tutoring, research guidance, professional skills development, and application support.
