About Arden
Hello! My Name is Arden and I have recently finished my Statistics Masters at Imperial College London, after achieving my undergrad degree in Mathematics and Philosophy at Durham University.
Before this I lived and studied in London and at school I especially enjoyed Maths and English lessons. School is not always easy, I know, but nothing can compare to the feeling after figuring out a particularly difficult question. Working toward my A-level exams I realised how much I enjoy problem solving as well as essay writing, which is why I decided to continue with both skills at university. I know maths especially can be an intimidating subject. I love it, but you don't have to. I hope that together we can break it down and make it less scary.
I'm always ready to help out younger students, being part of a 'big sisters' society at secondary school as well as aiding my younger siblings with their GCSE and A-level work. I have previous 1:1 tutoring experience in A-level mathematics both in person and virtually.

I think the most important part of teaching maths is getting past the mental block many students have with the subject. Mathematics is often the most hated subject in school! And it comes with a lot of fear. I want to break down problems to manageable pieces to build students' confidence with the subject.
I love maths! You don't have to. But it shouldn't feel impenetrable.
I have previously tutored A-level maths both online and in person. This usually involved working together through school-provided worksheets and mock exams, discussing any holes in understanding. I do not have a lot of previous tutoring experience but I certainly have a lot of experience with maths.
I feel confident teaching up to a first-year undergraduate standard, but am well versed on A-level and GCSE material.
