About Carol
I am passionate about teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping students grow in confidence and realize their potential. I believe education should do more than help students pass exams, but it should help them understand the world around them, think critically, and become curious, independent learners.
Over the past 12 years teaching English and Geography, I have worked with a wide range of students and learning styles. One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring for me is seeing students begin to believe in their own abilities, especially when they may have previously struggled with confidence or found a subject difficult.
I aim to create lessons that are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student as an individual. I understand that every learner is different, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their needs, whether that means providing extra challenges or building foundational skills.

My tutoring approach is highly personalised, inclusive, and focused on building both confidence and genuine understanding. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to each individual’s strengths, challenges, and learning style rather than using a one-size-fits-all method.
I aim to create engaging, supportive lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and developing independence as learners. Alongside strong subject knowledge and exam preparation, I focus on helping students think critically, make real-world connections, and develop long-term academic confidence.
Lessons are usually an hour long but can be adapted to longer sessions if needed. Lessons are tailored to each year/ age group depending on the specific needs requested upon booking.
