About Emmeline
I have always been a keen reader, listener and talker! Three attributes which I believe contribute entirely to confident teaching in the field of English. Both academically and privately as a hobby I have always written both academic and personal essays with relish, and extend my creative writing to lyrics, poetry and spoken word. I love talking about books and analysing them, and would be very happy to share this passion in a productive way by tutoring.

I have a conversation and practise-based approach to teaching, where discussion and question-asking will lead to more practical exercises and work. I am a confident communicator, patient, and very willing to answer any questions you might have at any point during the lesson. Typical lesson length is 1hr but I can happily extend this time if it feels like it would be useful.
I have a BA from Oxford University in English Language and Literature, and a MA distinction from Royal Holloway in Literary Non-Fiction.
I have spent a year looking after two children of ages 9 and 11, particularly helping them with homework. And have tuition experience in English Literature.
My lessons are for 11+, at any level of experience.
