My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to the needs of emergent readers in kindergarten through third grade. I begin with an initial assessment to identify each student’s strengths and areas for growth. Each session starts with a brief warm-up or review to activate prior learning and build confidence. I then provide systematic phonemic instruction to strengthen decoding and foundational reading skills. Lessons include guided close-reading activities to support comprehension and meaning-making. Each session ends with a brief informal assessment or exit activity to check understanding and determine next steps. This consistent structure helps students feel comfortable, supported, and confident while making steady, measurable progress in reading.
