I have 5 years teaching experience and have been working professionally as an artist and musician for 8 years. I have recently graduated from the prestigious Royal Drawing School, receiving a full scholarship and have recently exhibited work at Christie's London. My lessons focus on what a student wants to learn and I cater to their needs. Broadly speaking, there is a focus on observational drawing / painting, using models, still lifes and sculptures as references. I encourage a magpie approach: through structuring lessons with a focus on contemporary and art historical artists, students are encouraged to 'steal' their favourite parts, developing their own visual vocabulary and distinct approaches. I will show you how to use different materials - e.g. paper, paints, pastels, and can go into more niche materials, like gum arabic, pigments etc. I will also encourage students to put aside ideas of right or wrong! Making mistakes is the best way to learn :)

Angus is a super great tutor and highly skilled jazz pianist and musician!
If you’re looking to unlock your music creativity and ability to really feel and understand the piano, Angus is the one! His lessons are super fun, engaging and tailored. Through Angus, I was exposed to a whole new world of Jazz piano which completely changed my experience playing the piano. Couldnt recommend Angus enough !Angus has been helping me learn the piano and has been such a generous tutor. He has given me so much confidence and I have gone from barely getting my scales down to being able to play sensitive renditions (if I don’t say so myself!) of some of my favourite Bill Evans. Angus is a very special musician and tutor.
He is the best piano teacher and an amazing human being full of compassion. He is very friendly and has a down-to-earth style of teaching and superb musicality to be passed on!
Angus is an excellent Jazz pianist. He's also an exceptional teacher, being very attentive to the unique abilities and challenges of his students. I'd recommend Angus for anyone looking for a friendly, enthusiastic guide to the world of jazz piano.
