About Jonathan
I am a passionate musician who likes to listen to all kinds of music and research their songwriting compositions. I am a guitar tutor for oblique arts and North Cambridge community partnership charity organisations. I specialize in the guitar, I, however, can also play the bass and drums along with vocals. I am mainly a songwriter, hence my curiosity in analyzing how other musicians write has always been a joyous and interesting process. If a student is also curious about songwriting and needs some inspiration on theirs I am very happy to help with that as well. I am patient and will take my time to see and listen to the issues if a student struggles to figure out what they are trying to learn. This has aided me in learning how to create a more personalized lesson tailored for them to help grow their confidence.

If there is a pacific song a student would like to learn, I will break it down and dissect the song into sections where it can be easier to learn and appreciate the process of how the composition was crafted. Understand and introduce music theory (basic) that was needed to create it and how other instruments helped to enhance the song. Create exercises to help the student to find new methods to practice and improve their skill
The lesson will tend to last about an hour. If it takes a little longer there will be no extra charge.
Higher Diploma in Guitar, graduated from Academy of Contemporary Music, Guildford. I tutored in London for 2 years before moving.
My lessons are available between the ages of 10 - 20 (older people who are beginners are also welcome!). Levels from beginner to intermediate.

Perfect! Jonathan is a first class teacher. He is patient and doesn't cut corners so expect to spend time on the basics such as scales and technical playing tips. He is a great guitarist but remembers that everyone starts somewhere. He composes so can explain how music works and connects. I value this. A very pleasant person and great to work with. Jonathan is a fantastic teacher. He is reliable and patient, a top guitarist but remembers that he had to start somewhere and what that was like. I have improved very quickly and I am very happy I chose him. I also like that he has an interest in composition and has been showing me how music connects. He doesn't cut corners and you can expect to work on the basics and technique which are so important, including scales and a mix of classical and pop.
