About Maria
Hi! I’m Maria Simonin—a passionate educator, lifelong learner, and proud advocate for equitable education. I specialize in tutoring STEM subjects and standardized test prep, with a focus on supporting students from diverse backgrounds, including homeschoolers, foster youth, and neurodiverse learners. I moved to the U.S. from Brazil when I was 15, and that journey deeply shaped my love for teaching and mentoring others through transitions, challenges, and big goals. My lessons are student-centered, hands-on, and encouraging—I believe in making learning meaningful, engaging, and confidence-building. Outside the classroom, you’ll find me hiking desert trails, crocheting something cozy, tending to my plants, or trying out new camping places. Education is my calling, but building relationships and inspiring growth—both academic and personal—is what I truly love.
