About Lynne
I have taught English, history and the media for twenty years. In that time, I have been Head of Department, Second in English, Coordinator for Gifted and Talented, Coordinator for EAL and Head of House. I have been dedicated to helping students gauge their individual needs, so that their learning is properly assessed and reinforced.
I have an interest in sport, especially football, and am currently a coach for an U6 football team. I am also Welfare Officer at the football club. I love reading, films and walking and just simply spending time with my family and friends.
I feel passionately about the role education has, not only in a person's success but in their sense of self. A solid education helps you to know who you are, what you want to do and gives you the freedom to make choices that you may never have had otherwise. I've found that tuition really supports the goal that the student, the parents/carers and the school want to achieve for an individual's learning.

Listening to those who are learning, and finding out what works for them, is at the heart of my teaching. What works for one student might not work for another, so I feel it is really important to engage fully with the learner to create a formulated plan for their success.
I have successfully taught in a secondary school for twenty years, and have tutored students in and outside the school environment with excellent results. I focus on GCSE tutoring but have tutored students at KS2 SATS and at A Level, as well as tutoring students who have taken vocational courses.
A typical lesson would last for an hour, and I would support the sessions with precise, personalised assessment to target the learner's progress. I feel I teach with enthusiasm and care, and aim to make each individual student fully confident and assured about the progress they can make.
