About Debbie
I am a degree educated mum of 4. I used to work as a marketing controller for BSkyB and Black and Decker. I now help students with English and History tutoring as I got so frustrated with the revision help my children received as they went through GCSEs. I helped all three of my children who sat GCSE’s to achieve A*’s in AQA English Literature and English Language and am continuing to help others do the same.

I really take pride in tutoring students and enjoy seeing them grow in confidence. GCSE English has become much more challenging for many children mostly because of the sheer content involved and I try to make the content more manageable and enjoyable. I find strategies to help students memorise important concepts and key quotes, so that they go into the exams fully prepared. I ensure we go through past paper questions and exemplar answers as part of the revision sessions and I prepare students for as many potential exam questions as possible so that they are fully equipped for what might come up. Even if a student is not natural at English, with proper preparation, they can achieve high grades.
