About Rhoda

I thoroughly enjoy and love everything about English! It was my first love and favourite subject at school. I became a published author in Year 12 when my Research Project was published as part of an Anthology. I've been tutoring for the last 10 years and have had experience with tutoring students at different stages of English understanding. My classes are professional and student focused as there is nothing I want more than for my students to share my love of English and be enthusiastic about learning more. Feedback I have received from my students include my patience, credibility, collaborative and observative skills. I am empathetic and kind which is why I work tirelessly with my students to ensure understanding is achieved. I look forward to working with you. :)

About the lesson

I use a task-based approach which involves focusing on each person's individual skills and competencies. Classes are conducted online and can go anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour. I graduated with an Honours Degree in Law, and Journalism and Professional Writing. I have experience in tutoring age groups anywhere from 10 to 70 years. However, I am able to cater to almost any age group. My lessons are for those either wanting to learn the very basics of the English Language such as how to read and spell, and for those wanting to understand building blocks of the English Language (e.g. Parts of Speech (noun, pronoun, verb, etc.) and Figures of Speech (simile, alliteration, etc.). Lessons are also for those wanting to explore comprehension of large reading materials and or expand their vocabulary.
