About Joshua
I really fell in love with music when I was a teenager; I played cello, piano and oboe but as I studied more history and theory I got hooked on those. I went to university to study music, and ended up so fascinated that I did a doctorate analysing the music of one of my favourite composers.
Now I conduct and teach. I've worked with students from 8-adult and helped them achieve success whether their goals were university entrance, exam results, or development as a musician.

- I believe that we do music because we love it, and so I always ensure that whatever we're studying, my lessons remain fun and connected to the music we love.
- I feel that a strong theoretical grounding should work to enable your goals, whether they're composition, performance, or more academic study.
- Lessons with me are very personalised depending on what your goals are and level is. We'll typically work on a range of skills including aural development, historical knowledge, alongside traditional theory, therefore ensuring a well-rounded and adaptable education.
