About Jonathan
I am a friendly Canadian who recently moved to Brighton to teach and explore other creative opportunities. I hold a Bachelor of Musical Theatre Performance and a Bachelor of Education with a focus in Artist in Community Education. I have 8+ years of professional performance experience as an actor, singer and dancer. I most recently played Bob Gaudio in Des McAnuff's Tony Award winning production of Jersey Boys. As a vocalist I have performed with Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman, Frankie Valli & Broadway Legend Ben Vereen. My original musical adaptation of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane will be appearing in the Brighton Fringe Festival in May 2022.

I offer 30 min lessons (£15) and 60 min lessons (£30).
Lessons are designed and tailored to every student's unique goals and interests. A typical lesson consists of a 15 min warm up constructed to address technical goals, such as range, articulation, breath control, voice-body connection & tone, as well as applying technique and performance goals to repertoire. The focus of my teaching is helping students develop healthy, authentic sound and a strong foundational technique that allows them to comfortably explore a variety of different genres and vocal styles. As well as lessons, I offer audition coachings.
My voice lessons can be tailored to all levels and all ages. Piano and guitar lessons are offered at a beginner, entry level to all ages. If students are interest in songwriting / composition, I work collaboratively to design a lesson structure that fits your needs. Theory tutoring is also available to all levels / ages.
