About Salter
Hi! My name is Salter and I am so excited to have the chance to help you and your academic journey. I am from Alabama but went to college at Baylor University in Texas. Currently, I am a student at New York University (NYU) pursuing my Master's degree. While at Baylor University, I tutored local middle and high school students in algebra, writing, and chemistry. While I love those subjects, my true passion is helping students with essay writing, resume elevation, and college prep. During our sessions, I will make students feel confident in their abilities, give students ownership of their learning, and push the student to be the best version of themselves. I am a huge sports fan, so we can always talk your favorite games or teams too. I am so excited to work with you!

As a tutor, I use positive reinforcement, metacognition, scaffolding, and personalization to create an engaging learning environment. My lesson plan begins by asking the student what they want to accomplish, which builds ownership. I incorporate small, focused activities that lead to one final project for the following week. I stand apart because I once struggled with writing essays and building my resume until I found the right tutor; now, I strive to empower others. I am patient and dedicated, believing tutors have a major impact on student growth. My lessons are uniquely tailored for dedicated middle and high school students.
