A little about me is that I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and I am currently studying to receive my Master's of Teaching in Reading and Language Arts. Though I believe I have the qualifications to truly help you, I am also a person just like you. School is frustrating when lessons aren't designed for you. What sets me apart is my knowledge of a formal lesson. As an individual with a degree in education and extensive knowledge of the reading process, I also know how to determine what it is my student needs and how I can differentiate instruction for them. Students all learn differently and are capable of learning. I plan to encourage my students as I elicit their thinking and structure a lesson that will work best for them. A typical lesson for me is structured like the following: 1. Bring in that background knowledge--What does this student know and how can we build on it? 2. Decide on our objective--What is our goal here today? 3. Work together to practice the intended skill 4. Ask student to demonstrate knowledge 5. Summarize together
