About Jessica
I began learning German when I was 11 years old and received a Gold Award (99th percentile of German students based on a standardized exam) from the American Association of Teachers of German in 2014 and again in 2016. Cumulatively, I have spent nearly a year in Germany over the course of my life - 2 weeks for an exchange program in Bavaria, 3 months for an internship in Bremen, and 6 months for a semester of scientific coursework at the University of Hamburg.

My teaching method combines worksheets for grammatical foundations, vocabulary training, discussion of readings, assisted writing assignments, and one-on-one conversation. The balance of these components will be determined by the student's proficiency and goals. I tailor each lesson to the student's interests - whether you want to understand the announcer for a soccer game, read Harry Potter, or enroll in technical courses at a German university, I will work with you to reach your goals.
