About Josh
I seek to tailor my lessons to meet the needs, alongside the academic level aspirations, of the student. This will be looking at what area they wish to improve on within their subject, from revision methods to essay planning, structuring the lessons around this.
My teaching style will be co-operative, understanding, and patient, being a creative individual who will incorporate interactive techniques to match the learning style and personality of the student.
Areas I am proficient in include: writing techniques; essay/dissertation structures and planning; essay/dissertation proofreading and evaluation; revision techniques; creative writing; poetry; and research methods.
Owing to the current climate, I am available to teach online, to GCSE, A-Level, and Undergraduate students in History and/or EPQ.

Having graduated from Southampton University with a 2:1 in English Literature and History, I am looking to utilise my passion, experience, and understanding for these subjects by helping students to enhance their skills and enthusiasm for their subject alongside attaining their academic goals. I specialise in tutoring modern history, with my dissertation looking at the relationship between culture and politics in 1960s America.
Additionally, I am able to tutor students working on an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). I have worked with students on this before, and achieved an A* myself for this in Sixth Form. Due to the specialised nature of this qualification, I am able to work with students on a number of topics as I have a wide range and knowledge of external interests, from pop culture to current affairs.
I have worked as a tutor in English Literature, History, and EPQ, predominantly in GCSEs and A-Level, and helped them to secure sixth form and university placements. These students have been from across various academic levels, from those with special educational needs to gifted and talented.
