About Aine
Hi! I’m Aine — a friendly, patient and engaging tutor who genuinely loves helping students feel more confident in their English skills. I know that everyone learns differently, so I take the time to understand what each student needs and make lessons feel relaxed, encouraging and enjoyable.
I'm a law graduate and this background means I’m used to explaining complex ideas clearly, writing with precision, and paying attention to detail — all of which help me support students with their English work.
I’ve taught many GCSE and A-Level students, and nothing makes me happier than seeing someone’s confidence grow, especially if they’ve struggled in the past or just need a bit of extra support. I’m friendly, approachable and easy to talk to, and I aim to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their ideas.

I offer tailored English Language and Literature lessons designed to help students strengthen their analytical skills, improve their writing, and build confidence in both exam technique and subject knowledge.
My lessons are structured, interactive, and focused on skills mastery. I combine several proven teaching techniques, including:
Active Reading Strategies – teaching students how to annotate effectively, identify key themes, and understand writer’s craft.
Exam-Focused Analysis – practising how to break down unseen texts, compare extracts, or analyse set texts with precision.
Model Answers & Scaffolded Writing – showing students high-level structures, then guiding them towards producing their own analytical paragraphs and essays.
Personalised Feedback – each student receives detailed written and verbal feedback to strengthen clarity, structure, and critical thinking.
Memory & Revision Techniques – including mnemonics, thematic mapping, quote-learning strategies, and timed practice to improve recall and exam performance.
Confidence-Building Discussions – encouraging students to articulate interpretations, evaluate arguments, and develop independent thought.
A standard lesson lasts 60 minutes and usually includes:
Warm-up review of previous learning
Core teaching segment (analysis skills / textual study / exam technique)
Guided practice using exam-style questions
Independent application of skills through writing or annotation
Feedback + next steps
Longer 90-minute sessions are available for students who prefer extended essay practice or deeper text study.
